How would I head towards a certain type of photography?

I have only been shooting for about 6 months and I know I am not close to being good enough but something I really would love to do is shoot sports football but especially combat sports and professional wrestling. My question would be how would I go towards doing that ? I know I am not good enough and I also don't have the equipment rn I'm only shooting with a Olympus pen with 14m lens but I'd love to have a vision of a path forward any ideas ?

Especially when it comes to the right camera and getting opportunities
