Should AI raise some children?
Click bait title, but I was just thinking of how some people go to their LLM of choice for advice, how to feel about things, what to do, etc. It essentially serves as a guide or mentor for them.
Now onto the topic, let’s face it, some kids grow up with terrible role models. Some have abusive dads, some have moms who shelter them, some parents feed them their extreme doctrine whether it’s politics or religion and because the child doesn’t know better they never choose for themselves what they believe, until perhaps maybe later in life. Some kids have no role models at all, they just don’t know what to do in life.
As I’m writing this out, I could probably write a whole papers on the pros and cons, but on the flip side this is scary as well. Some people are horrible and rotten, and just shouldn’t be raising people at all. But obviously having big tech raise your children is probably not great for society for reasons I’ll let you think up (this is a Reddit post after all).
Overall, this is probably happening to some degree, and in some ways it can be positive as the LLM (as long as it isnt just being outright sycophantic) can give some the straight facts, and at least what the normal average would do given at any moment in time.
Anyways just food for thought
