Got caught by a red light camera making a right turn at 6th & Bryant (SF). Need advice.
Hi everyone,
I need some quick advice. I was driving on 6th St and made a right turn onto Bryant St on a red light. There was no "No Turn on Red" sign. I slowed down, but my dashcam shows I did a rolling stop at 10mph instead of a complete 0 mph stop. The camera flashed.
As a rideshare driver, keeping my record clean is crucial, but I already used Traffic School within the last 18 months so I am ineligible.
- Is a rolling stop right-turn treated more leniently than blowing straight through a red light, or is the fine the same ($490)?
- Is it worth hiring a traffic lawyer (like Off The Record or Ticket Clinic) to fight this online, or can I try a Trial by Written Declaration with my dashcam footage?
Appreciate any insights from SF drivers! Thanks!
