Suggest me DEEPLY melancholic books with a VERY chalant protagonist!

Melancholy is my favorite emotion ever. However I heavily dislike overly stoic protagonists, and these two seem to be magnetic towards each other. Any exceptions?

Bonus points if the protagonist is around 20 years old!
