F1 student CS grad without internship. What do I do?
Hi everyone, as the title says, I wasn't able to land an internship during undergrad and graduated with no professional experience. I have solid side projects, but it seems like most companies filter me out due to sponsorship requirements or lack of past work experience.
My original plan was to graduate and find a job, but given the current market, that doesn't seem realistic right now. Since staying in the U.S. is my priority, my main option seems to be grad school. I'm currently looking at SJSU, SCU, or Northeastern's Silicon Valley campus.
My main question: what are my chances of landing an internship while working on a master's? I know I'd be in a different applicant pool as a master's student, so I'm wondering whether that actually improves my odds compared to applying to new-grad roles with no experience, like I'm doing now. I understand a master's in progress doesn't add much to a resume on its own, but my thinking is that internship postings tend to have a lower bar for prior experience than full-time roles, so maybe that's an easier way in.
