Married to a good partner, but still feel emotionally and physically unfulfilled.

I’m married to a genuinely good man, he’s a great dad, works hard, and I know he loves me. I don’t want this to turn into blaming him because that’s not what this is.
But I’ve been feeling increasingly lonely in my marriage.
I’m usually the one initiating affection, managing a lot of the mental load, and trying to create emotional connection. He does respond with love and help, but I often don’t feel consistently pursued or desired in a way that meets my needs.
I’ve realized I really crave feeling actively wanted and chosen in my relationship, not just loved, but intentionally pursued.
We’re about to start couples counseling because I don’t want to lose what we have. I want to understand whether we can bridge this gap and reconnect in a deeper way.
Has anyone else experienced loving your partner deeply but still feeling emotionally and physically unfulfilled? What helped you and your partner work through it?
