Chronic skin issues
I (22f) started dealing with chronic skin issues about a year ago when I got off nexplanon birth control. It started with a dry patch on my cheek that I got prescribed ketoconazole and triamcinolone for. It didn't go away and then I got pregnant and I started getting a dry patch under my eye. then I started getting eczema flares on my arms. I also started getting these random patches all over my body that looked like a mix of eczema and ringworm. doctors thought it was fungal so they prescribed me clotrimazole for that and it did nothing. I went back and they prescribed me more (pimecrolimus, hydrocortisone, and flicinolone acetonide (didn't feel comfortable taking this pregnsnt)) that also did nothing.
Now postpartum everything is a lot worse. I have psoriasis looking patches all over my body as well as eczema and really bad patches under both eyes that make me feel like I rubbed my face on a cat. I'm constantly itching and nothing is helping. I would like to see a functional medicine doctor, but unfortunately, it's too expensive. I'm at a loss for what to do now. I've never heard of this happening to anyone and I don't know where to go to get help. Has anyone dealt with similar skin issues? Topical creams clearly aren't working so I don't feel like dermatology is the right next step.
