Budget Spending Idea: Tabletop Games

Budget Spend Suggestion

Proposal: Spend some of the monthly budget on rules-lite, low-prep, micro-rpg, or one-page tabletop games to incorporate into the show. The boys seem to have fun when they do episodes with tabletop-esque rules, and they’ve mentioned possibly bringing D&D into the show, but there is a wonderful world of TTRPGs beyond D&D, and lots of stuff designed to move faster. Would be a good way to buy stuff from smaller indie creators as well.

Suggestions: One Page Solo Engine is designed for solo play so it's super versatile and can be slapped onto anything (and it has an app). Mothership is my go-to for a lighter ruleset, but it has a very specific “dying to space horrors” flavor and still has some crunch to it. In The Dark is a lightweight version of Blades In The Dark (so, you know, good for heists and crimes and such). I know there's also stuff like EZD6, Index Card RPG, Honey Heist, Mini Six, Lasers & Feelings (and its many hacks), Freeform Universal RPG (I believe it has an ultra condensed version as well), etc. Or like a million other options on DriveThruRPG or Itch.io. The tabletop world is your oyster.
