Dwarves should be more popular then elves

I think Dwarves are far more interesting to me than elves because they are much like humans tied to this earth, beholden to forces that will always resist us requiring continuous effort to overcome.
Every single centimetre of a dwarven hold must be painstakingly mined and claimed from metres of stone that resist them. The dwarven master craftsmen at the forge endures burns blinding heat and the inhalation of toxic compounds in the pursuit of a forged sword worthy of the ancestors. With each act it is to proclaim my body will age soon my vision and motor skills will deteriorate but in defiance of that In the present I shall pour all my effort to create a legacy so that my excellence will never be forgotten. As a dwarf understands nothing is given freely anything of value within a worthy life must be earned through labour.
In contrast compare that to an elf they are ethereal not of this world floating above this resistance . their excellence is the product of unearned inheritance. Elves have no reason to be so arrogant for they have earned none of it. Their magical aptitude is innate, their state of immortal perfect beauty is also innate.
