Mic monitoring delay on G6/G7C, still an issue in 2026?

I’m trying to get a clear, current answer about mic monitoring on the Sound Blaster G6 and G7C.

Old posts say the G6 has noticeable sidetone delay, especially with SBX effects enabled. Some called it unusable for real‑time chat. But those posts are 5–6 years old, and I can’t tell if newer firmware fixed anything.

So for anyone using these devices today:

• G6: does mic monitoring still lag? do SBX effects still add delay?
• G7C: is the sidetone actually low‑latency, or does it have similar issues?

Just trying to figure out whether the G6 is still worth considering or if the G7C is the safer pick for clean, real‑time monitoring.
