Recruiter went on vacation after time sensitive email
Never gone on here before for advice but I’m at a loss here lol. I’ll try to make this brief.
I’ve gotten to the final interview of a job that would be an absolute dream for me. For context, I currently have a job at the same company, just in a different office, so not applying elsewhere really, this would just be a better opportunity. I had the final interview 2.5 weeks ago and it went really well. In the last 2.5 weeks there’s been a company holiday and pretty much everyone I interviewed/connected with at some point being out of office. Last Monday, my application was finally flipped from interview scheduled to gathering feedback, but both of the final interviewers were out of office. At the same time, another job at my same company gave me an offer with only 5 days to respond. On Thursday, I sent an email to the recruiter that I’d been connected with throughout the process to tell her about the other offer and check on the status of my application. I received no response. I ended up declining the other offer because of visa issues. Today, I checked online and see she is out on medical leave for a week. My problem is: I’ve already told them I have a time sensitive offer. I’m concerned if she comes back she will assume I took the other offer and I won’t be in the running anymore. However, I don’t want to look desperate if I send an email saying I didn’t take the other offer after all. Any advice? Should I just wait it out and assume she’ll ask me if I took the offer when she is back? Should I double email while she’s gone? Will someone else reply to my email since I’m sure she already saw it? Should I just give up?
