Online Play

Hi all, I got acnh for Christmas last year so I’m decently new to the game and still working on figuring stuff out, I just recently achieved the 3 star island rating and unlocked the hotel and the construction stuff etc. I kind of feel like I’m in a bit of a slump now with nothing to do and was wondering if online play is worth it or would help? I also was curious about fruit trees and how I find new ones, is playing online the only way to do that? I have oranges and coconuts on my island, I’ve taken the boat every day since I unlocked it and have only found produce plants not any kind of new trees. Sorry for the long ramble here I’m just looking for advice. Thank you!
