Moving to another country changed me more than I expected

Five years ago, I moved away from the country where I grew up. At first, I thought the biggest challenge would be getting used to a new language and a different way of life.

Looking back now, I realize the biggest change wasn't around me it was inside me. Living somewhere new made me more independent, more open to different perspectives, and more appreciative of the people I care about.

I still miss certain things from home, especially some traditions, food, and the feeling of familiarity. But I've also built a life that I'm grateful for where I am now.

Sometimes I wonder if anyone else has experienced something similar after moving somewhere new
