Feedback wanted!

Hi! I'm something of an aspiring writer, and I'm currently working on something that I hope I can publish soon. What I'm asking for feedback on is just a draft, so if I do end up publishing it, some things will be changed.

I've been working on this for about a month or 2 now, and I haven't been able to get any people outside of my friends to read it (I don't think anyone has).

It's called In The Case of Basia Leary (placeholder title, will be changed), and as of right now, it's 12 and a half chapters and approximately 32,000 words. I don't expect anyone to read all 12 chapters, and I'm not asking anyone to. I just want someone who can read at least the first few paragraphs and give me a bit of criticism.

There are mentions of murder and other sensitive things, so be aware.
