Puppy bit my Mac book air screen, how do I use the AppleCare I bought from Best Buy?

So my puppy bit the screen from the side and made a small dent and broke the screen. I bought the 3 year apple care from Best Buy at the time of the purchase. Is apple able to look up the AppleCare on my MacBook somehow? Also should I tell them my puppy bit the screen?
