I saw a full Jurassic World cardboard cutout display in a museum… enquired about it… and accidentally ended up wanting a life-size T-Rex at home
I once saw an entire line-up of Jurassic World dinosaur cardboard cutouts inside a museum exhibition and honestly… my brain completely forgot they were cardboard for about ten minutes.
There was:
a giant T-Rex
Velociraptors
a Dilophosaurus
baby dinosaurs
the Jurassic Park gates
all arranged like a miniature dinosaur encounter.
Kids were running around pointing at them.
Adults were taking selfies.
One bloke genuinely backed away from the raptor display.
And I remember thinking:
“Why does this actually feel brilliant?”
So I asked where they got them from.
That was probably a mistake.
Because later that night I discovered you could actually buy the same Jurassic cardboard cutouts online… and suddenly I understood why these things are appearing everywhere now.
Interesting fact: Jurassic Park caused a worldwide dinosaur obsession in the 1990s so big that museums reported increased attendance from children wanting to learn about prehistoric creatures after seeing the film.
And honestly, the cutouts tap directly into that same feeling.
The giant ones are especially ridiculous in the best way:
185cm Jurassic World Rebirth T-Rex
188cm T-Rex Stand-In
Indominus Rex
Spinosaurus
Velociraptors
because they’re close enough to human size that photos suddenly feel weirdly cinematic.
The Jurassic Park entrance sign might actually be the smartest prop though.
The second people walk through it, they immediately:
quote the films
make dinosaur noises
recreate scenes
start acting like they’re in the park
Interesting fact: the original Jurassic Park animatronic T-Rex was so large and realistic that cast members reportedly forgot they were working beside a mechanical effect during filming.
After seeing the museum setup, I completely understood why people use these for:
cinema rooms
gaming spaces
birthday parties
exhibitions
comic conventions
themed cafés
school events
because they instantly transform empty spaces into something interactive.
And honestly, once you realise you can casually own a nearly life-size T-Rex, your financial priorities start changing very quickly.
