Are Knights really that fragile in Melee in Horus Heresy ?

Are Knights really that fragile in Melee in Horus Heresy ?

Just had a discussion with a horus heresy player and he meant that knights get wrecked pretty bad if anything gets into close combat with them. How true is this ?
