When Strangers Become Your Hair Inspiration.

I went to cosmetology school to become a hairstylist, and our school was inside a mall. During our lunch breaks, my classmates and I would sometimes wander around the mall, looking at people with funky hair colors or unique hairstyles. We'd quietly admire and analyze their looks, then head back to class and try to recreate those styles on our mannequin heads. I always thought that was such a fun class exercise. Of course, we couldn't recreate the vibrant hair colors because we were still practicing and were complete newbies in the industry.

While walking around the mall with my classmates, I often found myself wondering why some people chose to dye their hair green, while others went with colors like blue or red. Then again, who am I to judge? I dyed my own hair pink while I was in school!

I guess I've just always wondered... why green? If you're going to choose a bold color, pink or purple can still look somewhat natural. Even a deep wine-red shade looks more natural than a bright, box-dyed red.
