Yggdrasil Build WIP
Hey guys,
Wanted to quickly share a build we've been working on the last 3 days while streaming http://www.kalbuir.com/treehouse.png
It's about 30 hours in so far and i'm not really expecting it to complete the full tree before the next patch/wipe hits but at least it will keep us entertained / busy.
For those interested we'll be streaming all the progress on http://stream.kalbuir.com and will be doing some Starbound give-aways today as well.
So far there is a hospital, some residential houses and an amphibian theater. But there are plenty of buildings that still need to be added. Hoping to at least get one side of the tree fully build before wipe.
I'm also looking for idea's on the inside of the tree, it's a lot of space and just boring cubed room will be a rather dull approach. If anyone has any idea's pitch them here please :D. Part of the base of the tree will have area's where you are not looking at the inside but the outside with houses on the front but that will only cover a small part of the full height.

Interesting. I just don't like the "fake stuff" such as the helicopter.
I actually agree with you, when I started building the heli I said this is going to look either horrible or brilliant. I thought it looked quite horrible but people on stream seemed to love it. Only reason it didn't get demolished tbh.
Well, building "fake" stuff is extremely common among Starbound and Terraria players. You play with pixels, after all, so you can "draw" whatever you like.
Just build the helicopter out of metal blocks. I'm pretty sure in the universe of Starbound, they have the technology for helicopters. It's not like it grew out of the tree. They are just utilizing one of the many strong branches, right?
I think the helicopter is excellently rendered and honestly looks very convincing. Wonderful work all around! Envious of your tree.
