Looking for a Study Buddy in Neography (and much more for what this is!)

Activity

Hey everyone, new here. I’ve been constructing my own “language” for the past year as a means to heal a brain injury by combining concepts and creating new symbols for these recombinant concepts and grammar systems to link them together for about two years now — I didn’t realize that this is overlain in this ‘neography’ and had only understood it as something like a constructed language with built in modalities.

A bit of background on how it started — I suddenly became incredibly infatuated with the concept of using the verbal parts of the brain to process arithmetic instead of what would normally be used in math, as that is how I recalled my brain worked before my seizures.

I intuited my way through a simple system where numbers stopped being numbers, and instead became symbolic containers that could be combined with others, had names, and an underlying algorithm that allowed long names of numbers, like “forty thousand nine hundred and ninety-two” to be instead spoken and understood through this algorithm as something like “malonus” for example, and hold a much more condensed (four strokes) symbol representing the entire number/word instead as well.

I was enraptured by the beauty and elegance of this ‘symbolic compression’ and its become I feel a healthy obsession. I enjoy relating everything I learn into my language as it grows into a reflection of my own cognition as I heal — I have so many tangible ideas I’ve both put into it and that I have this insatiable urge to grow into as I progress that it almost feels like a violation of the self to reveal them here, if you’d forgive my inadvertent pretentiousness.

I’m looking for someone who is equally or nearly as interested in these concepts as I am — Neography, constructed languages, memory palaces, symbolic compression, assigning tangibility to abstract concepts, and how they can all be merged. I’m utterly intoxicated, and would love to be able to talk to someone who shares my enthusiasm, and we could go back and forth and bounce ideas or just be ears for each other to graciously listen to, understanding how niche even the interest of Neography is.

I’m currently actually about to start studying a ‘real’ foreign language (Norwegian) but have a clever way to do so that incorporates that language into a simple set of runes that fit into a single character within my own that make it an engaging and memorable process, both in learning and in fun (often one and the same) and of course in the meta study of this ‘skill’ overall.

Hope to see you in my inbox or comments!

And I’m available on either Discord or Telegram once we do set up
