Got scammed by a taxi service

Want to share and rant about the experience I had today.

I reached the airport and had to travel to karmelaram from there. I am first time coming to Bangaluru, I am natively from vadodara gujarat. So I try to book and uber and it shows that there is a waiting line which I have to join outside the airport. While I am walking there multiple people approach me for taxi, I refused most of them but one in particular stuck around and said that uber wait time is too long I will get you a taxi much quicker. So I agree and ask him the rate. He said it will be minimum 1400 since it is about 55 km. I saw ok no issue (uber said 1000 but I was short of time so I said yes)

As I went with him he called a taxi and got me in and then he said it would be minimum 1600. This was the first red flag I should've noticed and immediately refused but I was in a hurry and didn't want to waste anymore time so I said yes after hesitating.

Then when I reached the destination they charges me freaking 2860 rupees!!. I was outraged and I outrightly refused to pay anything more than 2000.

Then what happened scared the shit out of me, the car was made in such a way that I could not open the door unless the driver opens it from his side. This made me certain this is an absolute scam and all they do is lure and leech money out of new and unsuspecting people like me. I had to ultimately pay the amount. And then the driver opened the door to the car.

When I tried to argue they said it was minimum 1600 no maximum. I was completely blown out of my mind that such scamsters are still roaming around openly.
