When people assume you have more free time because you work remotely ( from home )
I'm in Logistics & Transportation with a primary focus on Critical/High value freight ( Pharmaceuticals, Medical supplies etc )
It would be pretty complicated and take a while to explain in detail what I do exactly on a daily basis but anyone even remotely in the same line of work will probably tell you the same : We are VERY BUSY and usually work longer hours than most people with a standard 9-5.
Many people in my life( Family, Friends) don't fully understand. Even after detailed explanations over the last 20 years that I've been in this business.
So, I still frequently get asked to take care of something at the house , call this or that.. receive some repair man, pick up/give someone a ride...
It's ridiculous..
Just because you have to be physically present at XYZ location for your job doesn't mean you have it harder and just because I work from my home office doesn't mean I can walk away whenever I feel like it or stop what I'm doing to help you with shit you should plan to do on your own free time !
P.S.
I understand that some folks have the type of job they can do from a laptop on a beach/cafe with very little accountability but that is not the standard and it definitely isnt ME.
