Gf [20f] keeps touching me [19f] inappropriately while I’m asleep

My girlfriend [20f] and I [19f] have been together for almost 18 months but started as friends almost 4 years ago. I love her so much, we started having sex about 7 months ago (we wanted to take it slow bc we’ve both been in bad relationships in the past).

On new years eve this year we were sleeping cuddling together and I woke up really groggy and confused in the middle of the night to a feeling of someone fondling me under my underwear. (This was before we had had sex officially, so this was our first real sexual encounter.) I instinctively gravbed her hand and threw it off of me. Asked her what she was doing and then fell back asleep. The day after I told her I wouldn’t mind if she initiated sex, but I needed to be awake during it. The vibe was really weird the whole day and I honestly felt violated. She went home and we decided we needed to have a really in depth convo about what happened and why. It was a really emotional convo where we both talked about our own past sexual assaults. I assumed she didn’t have the normal understanding of consent because of this, but we had a thorough talk about our boundaries and what we’re comfortable with. So I assumed it wouldn’t happen again. And it didn’t for a few months.

Then we went through a dry spell for a few weeks bc she was really busy w uni and I was busy trying to get a job and applying to schools. Then it happened again. She once again apologized but it happened 3 times after that. Every time she’s been really ashamed of herself and apologized profusely. It happened again on sunday night while we were staying at her dad’s house to dog sit. The morning after we had a really long and indepth convo (again), she explained that she thinks it keeps happening because she carries a lot of internalized shame about her asexuality. She’s not fully asexual, she enjoys having sex with me but she is on the spectrum (demisexual). I just don’t understand why that would cause this tbh. She promised that this time it REALLY won’t happen again. I want to believe her.

I would love advice from people who have experienced similar things, any perspectives welcome

My question is: can we move past this?

Tldr: she’s touched me 6 times and keeps apologizing while not changing behaviour, she promises she’s realized the problem and this time she really will change.
