AT/T/T - Passed in first Attempt - Hard Circumstances

Celebration/Thank you 🎉

I wanted to share that I passed my PMP exam today with AT/T/T. It's been a rollercoaster.

I graduated with a BBA in 2020 and kept putting off the PMP for years. The exam changing this July was the final push that made me actually book it.

I've been working as a Project Coordinator for the past 2 years. Last year, I was diagnosed with ADHD, depression, a sleep disorder, and OCD. Prepping for this exam while dealing with an abusive marriage, an addict partner, and my mental health has been incredibly hard. Somehow, I did it. Credit goes to my parents for giving me the environment and support to study.

Prep resources:
I can't thank this subreddit enough. My work experience qualified me to sit for the exam, but I bought the Andrew Ramdayal (AR) Udemy course anyway. AR's delivery pace felt slow for me, with the ADHD, it genuinely felt like I was wasting time sitting through it, so I didn't get through the full course (barely 20%). I watched 50 mindset videos, a few Dave McLachlan (DM) videos, and ended up relying mostly on PMI Study Hall for the bulk of my prep, completing all the mini exams, all practice questions, and 3 full-length exams. My scores were in the 70s. I reviewed every wrong answer with Claude and Gemini to really understand the reasoning behind them. Huge thanks also to the redditors who posted their cheat sheets in this subreddit, they were extremely helpful. I reviewed their cheat sheets the night before.

Exam day:
The exam itself felt simpler in terms of the language used, but harder in terms of the choices, every option looks correct, which makes decision-making tough. Timing was a challenge too; I had about 10 minutes to review each section. In the exam centre, you could pick out who was there for the PMP just by the blue outfits everyone seemed to wear. Check-in took longer than expected. I took my allotted breaks but ended up going over time on them, which put me behind schedule. I was running late that morning, so no breakfast, just my ADHD meds and coffee, and a protein shake during breaks.

I walked out of that exam room thinking I'd failed. Turns out I passed.

To anyone else prepping through hard circumstances, it's possible. Good luck to all of you still on this journey.
