Americans, we need to accept that we will never be a contender

I think we’ve seen the ceiling of USA football. We have too many professional sports that are deeply interwoven into our culture, like baseball, basketball, and American football. Kids here aren’t growing up dreaming of playing for Liverpool, they’re dreaming of hitting a home run for the Yankees or scoring a touchdown in the Super Bowl.

And you know what? That’s okay. We don’t sit here and ask why Great Britain's or Czech Republic’s baseball team sucks, because we understand their athletes aren’t growing up training for baseball. For non-Americans, it for sure sounds like sour grapes because we lost, but it is very much true that our best athletes aren’t playing for the USA national team. We were completely outclassed last night, and that’s fine the better team won. And TBH I think I’m rooting more for England than I was the USA😂
