Looking for an upgrade under 1k CAD, if possible! (light gaming/coding use)

Got a Dell XPS 15 laptop at a great price, but it's wearing pretty quickly, heats up a lot, and some important keys (like the direction keys) are failing. Specs:

• GPU: Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630

• CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8300H CPU @ 2.30GHz (2.30 GHz)

• Disk: 477GB

• RAM: 16GB

• Screen: 34.5 x 19.3cm (13.6 x 7.6 inch)

Obviously I'm is mostly limited by the integrated graphics. Wouldn't want to go under 16GB ram or lower disk storage, and lower screen size would make it harder to use for programming.
