Is it completely normal to not get a response from your conveyancer within a few days?
Used this company when we first bought a house 6 years ago. They were fine - after we shopped around this time they were comparable price wise so decided to give them a go again.
We accepted on offer on our proper in early April and a few days later had our offer accepted on the one we’re buying.
Since then communication has been terrible. Despite claiming being are on annual leave or off sick they don’t have out of office responses to emails.
The first person we were given the only emails he seemed to respond to were about chasing us for payments. The next person we were given has sent us one email introducing herself to us but never responds to any other emails.
The updates on our house sale have mostly come from our estate agent who are really good.
It now transpires that our solicitor was sent enquires from our buyer that are standard questions but ones online can answer (how old is the boiler, when was it serviced etc etc). This was sent 28th May and our solicitor has never sent this over. I only have it because our estate agent sent it. I then find out our estate agent has never had a response from our solicitor to any emails ever - that can’t be normal?
I’ve sent complaint emails to senior partners in their business who have responded and apologised (sort of) and said they’d keep an eye on it - but nothing seems to change?
Is this just normal? Are they this aloof? They’ll email us in their own good time? Am I being too keen?
