Feldweg- an app for taking actual breaks from your phone

been building this for a while, finally sharing it here. Its called Feldweg (German for field path)

Started because I kept opening Instagram or YouTube during every 30second gap in my day - waiting for the kettle, whatever — not even enjoying it just scrolling on autopilot. So I biult something that gives you an actual small pause instead of another feed.

What it does

Four areas: Start, Activities, Learn, Settings.

• Start — daily intention, quote, streak, mood graph, a little visual path that fills up with consistent check-ins, plus a gratitude jar for nice moments you jot down.
• Activities — not finished yet but here is what i already have: breathing (box, 4-7-8, simple calm) a quick puzzle, memory, Daily Word (Pro), Stretch (Pro), Draw (Pro), Phone Free Timer, or “Surprise Me.” Most end with a short journal step — mood plus optionally one sentence.
Learn — short articles on doomscrolling, mindfulness. Nothing preachy.
• Settings — language (DE/EN), theme, notifications, biometric lock, backup and new: Feldweg Barriers - you can now lock apps to stop the scrolling.

New in 2.0.7 — Feldweg Barriers

Lock specific apps (Instagram, TikTok or others.) and they only unlock after a physical action — scanning a QR code somewhere away from your desk or a quiet timer. Meant to interrupt that autopilot “open app before I even decided to” habit, which is basically my entire bad phone habit - mostly at least.

Also included: break reminders, ambient sounds (white/brown noise, wind), fingerprint lock, offline backup, light/dark mode with 3 themes, mood journal PDF export.

Free vs Pro: Breathing, puzzle, Memory, basic articles are free and most of the main Features are free. Pro (sub or lifetime, gift codes work too) unlocks everything else.

Solo project, still early - would genuinely love to hear whats confusing or missing if you try it. :) I would also be very grateful if you take the time to leave a review on the Play Store (for the algorithm since the app doesn‘t really have users yet) Not trying to reinvent screentime apps, just wanted something that feels like an actual pause. 🌿
