Switching jobs in 2027

Career planning

Hi everyone, my fiance and I are hoping to move to New York mid/late next year. The tough part is I have a pretty important role at my current job so I can’t just leave with two weeks notice. I really respect my boss and team and would not want to do that to them. But it’s almost time for me to leave and explore other industries and move. My fiance works remotely.

I know there is no black and white answer to this, but how can i go about looking for a job for NEXT year? Or even later this year for next year? I don’t want to move to an expensive city without something lined up, and breaking our lease before May is super expensive so it is best to wait until the summer. I just can’t get an offer, quit, and move across the country in less than two weeks.

What is a realistic time for me to start looking for a job? Are there ways to plan ahead for this stuff? What can I do for this transition?🥲❤️
