Buying a new car

i need advice on what the best cars on the market are right now for under 1 Million. i know the options for this budget keeps getting more and more scarce and i'm aware that this money won't get me german quality but what would you say is the best value for money car in this range?

i heard a lot of conflicting opinions, some recommend the proton saga, others say wait and get a cheap hyundai, others say chinese isn't as bad as it used to be.

what do you guys think?
