Do younger gay guys hookup less now ?

This may just be my area but when me and someone like each other and it comes down to actually meeting for a hookup , the interest from their end basically dies off fast. And I’ll get messages and such but no one is that bothered about actually meeting and hooking up . It’s like people like the idea of it but just don’t wanna do it anymore . Which I get and I don’t care too much but it’s a shame cus I would like some actual sex again someday . And I see younger people not having sex generally bought up often online .
