Mohela voicemail

Today I received a voicemail where the person said they were calling to collect debt and left a callback number. I called the number and the automated recording said it was Mohela customer service for student loans, so I hung up before speaking to anyone. I logged into my Mohela account to find a missed payment, but it wasn’t even 30 days past due. I quickly paid it and after searching for answers, it seems that Mohela defaults loans after a period of 270 days of delinquency.

So, now I’m confused. Was the voicemail legitimate, or a scam? I also sent a message through the Moha portal and am waiting to hear back, but was wondering if anyone else had experienced this and how I should proceed.

(To clarify, I was up to date with payments before this missed payment.)
