First tooth at 5.5 months… now panicking about bottle to sleep and tooth decay
My baby is 5.5 months and her first tooth has just started coming through. It’s cut through the gum but isn’t fully out yet. She still falls asleep with her bottle and now I’m really worried about tooth decay. The thing is, she’s had bottle aversion before, so feeds have been stressful for us, and her daily intake is still on the lower side. A lot of the time she drinks best when she’s sleepy or going to sleep. I feel like she’s too young to completely stop the bedtime bottle, especially when I’m already worried about how much she drinks, but I’m also scared I’m setting her up for dental problems later.
Has anyone dealt with this? Did you keep the bottle and just clean teeth after, or did you slowly change the routine?
