Name alteration when moving to NI

Hi so I’m due to be a university student in NI soon, and I want to ask locals if I should choose a ‘preferred name’ to avoid inconvenience amongst other things. My name is Kiera, an anglicised version of Ciara and I feel I will probably have to tell everyone and everything how to spell it that way. I also do like the Irish version a lot. I guess it could also be seen as a method of assimilation although I will be a student not a permanent resident so that isn’t a major concern for me.

This is a super random question and probably meaningless but sincere and polite opinions would be appreciated!
