Hi everyone!

I'm from Portugal and I'm currently building my first portfolio with the goal of becoming a freelance database developer. I'm still a beginner, and to be honest, I feel a bit lost about the best path to follow and how to get my first clients.

So far, I have experience with:

• MySQL
• MongoDB
• JSON
• XML
• Power BI
• Basic Python

Right now, I'm creating personal projects to showcase my skills, but I'm not sure if I'm focusing on the right kind of work.

I'd really appreciate any advice on questions like:

• What projects make a portfolio stand out?
• How did you get your first freelance clients?
• Are platforms like Upwork or Fiverr worth it for beginners?
• What skills or technologies should I learn next to increase my chances of getting hired?
• Is there anything you wish you had known when you were starting out?

Any tips, recommendations, or personal experiences would mean a lot. I'm eager to learn and improve—I just feel a little overwhelmed by all the different directions I could take.
