Haven't used my CPAP in 6 months
I have only had my CPAP machine for a year, and I've been inconsistent about using it since I haven't really used it at all for six months (last time I used it was in February but then I got sick and using it was difficult). When I first got I wasn't able to sleep with it, the air flow was going to fast for me to be able to handle, but it was adjusted so it would be easier for me to handle. However for a few months after that I'd sleep with it on but at some point I'd wake up to everything being taken off. I do move around in my sleep quite often, and unfortunately that did happen during the sleep study when I got tested for minor sleep apnea. I didn't have it on for most of the sleep study and even though I asked about I was told "well it should have given us enough info" but shouldn't it be a concern that I take it off during my sleep? The times when I had woken up with it on I am finding myself gasping for air and again nothing is on properly because I moved around in my sleep. Should this be something I discuss with my primary care doctor about to discuss alternatives or to have a different sleep study because my parents and my sister complain about my snoring most nights and I want to use it, but how can I use it if I take it all off anyways? My dad also uses cpap so he knows to make sure I am wearing it correctly and I do when I go to sleep, but I always end up with it back off despite how often I adjusted it.
