Roommate selection for 2nd year hostel

I have a question to all the current 2nd and 3rd year hostelites. Me and my friend have a huge CGPA gap. I wanted to know how much cgpa range is good enough to be roommates. Can u please quantify it? Is 0.5 too much? If not then can u give me some solutions to increase my chances
