Do you think it's more important for a zombie to look undead or actually be undead to be considerd a zombie?
I'm trying to make a diagram of sorts to break up various depictions of the undead and one of my metrics is the appearance / life status of the zombie (whether it is or isn't one). Things like Left 4 Dead or 28 Days later for example use terms like "infected" to reinforce the idea that despite their appearances the monsters in question are still very much alive. Rarely do you see the inverse depicted where you have hoards of wwhat appear to be living people that simply aren't, this resembling moreso vampire lore.
To add onto this what other metrics if you had to sum it up into a 3 or so key attributes would you say make a zombie a zombie? For me it's the aforementioned + intelligence/personality and infection
