# DEAD RAILS CONCEPT CARD #200

# SURVIVOR AS SAVIOUR

# The Returning of the Survivor as Saviour

*"The cure saved you. Now you must save everyone else."*

After lowering the bridge and reaching Mexico, the player finally obtains the cure and becomes immune.

News of your survival reaches the Government. After reviewing countless failed rescue attempts, they realize you're the only person who has successfully crossed the infected frontier and returned alive.

Then they reveal the real problem.

A large group of survivors, engineers, and soldiers established a safe base in **Chicago**, but shortly after the cure was discovered, all communication stopped.

The final transmission they received contained only one message:

**S.O.S.**

Every rescue team sent afterward disappeared without a trace.

No soldiers returned.

No missions succeeded.

The Government believes you may be the only person capable of discovering what happened.

You accept the mission and return—not as a survivor...

...but as a **Saviour**.

# Story Foundation

This concept introduces **Part 2** of the proposal.

Instead of extending the original journey, it creates a completely new endgame campaign that begins only after reaching Mexico.

The player's role changes completely.

The goal is no longer to survive.

The goal is to rescue those who couldn't.

# Mission Objectives

* ✅ Rescue trapped survivors.
* ✅ Rescue the soldiers defending the safe zones.
* ✅ Rescue engineers and other key personnel.
* ✅ Discover what happened to the missing rescue teams.
* ✅ Solve the mystery surrounding Chicago.
* ✅ Escape with the survivors.

# Design Philosophy

The original journey is about becoming the last survivor.

**Survivor as Saviour** is about becoming humanity's final hope.

Rather than replacing the existing ending, this concept expands it into a second campaign with new objectives, new mechanics, and a larger story.

# Balance

The SAS Mission is unlocked **only after successfully reaching Mexico**.

It is intended as optional endgame content that builds on the original Dead Rails experience without changing the core survival gameplay.
