Parking for u-haul pod?

I am moving to West Hollywood from Oakland. I have signed a lease, but don't get a parking spot. I have packed my things into two uhaul containers - is the best way to unload these to save a spot on my street until they are delivered, and then move my car and have the pods delivered there for an afternoon while they are unloaded? Do I need a special permit for that? I don't yet have a parking permit as I haven't arrived. Thanks in advance !
