Oookay: I got 2 propagations of the pothos plant in 2021, planted them and they were thriving. Since then, they have grown so much and gotten oh so long. I was scared to cut them, and since they were getting leggy, I chose to do circle propagation. It did not help a lot, they continued to get bigger and bigger. I finally decided to cut 1 plant, and leave the other like it is, so if I ruin 1 plant, I still have the other.

I chose to do put the cuttings in water, and a week has passed and the top parts of the growing plant propagations have started browning, indicating that my propagation was unsuccessful? The leaf part of propagations are still fine, still green. (honestly i don't know how to explain this better) I started seeing some growth on the roots (before putting them in water i coated the cuttings in rooting powder). So I hope they will grow some roots so I can plant them and make my pothos bushier.

On the other hand, my other pothos plant which I chose not to cut, has been growing a lot lately and I started seeing some new spikes (shown in the pictures). I should cut it too, but I wanted to check first if my first propagation would be okay because I don't want to ruin my plants :(( Pothos gods, please give me some advice on what should I do and how should I proceed
