Headphone Upgrade

Hello Good People,

I am an avid gamer and music listener from Australia who is looking to upgrade their headphones.
I'm a bit stuck because I want an upgrade in quality for both sound and Directional audio.
I know these two don't really come hand in hand but I'm wanting to see what people more in the headphone space can suggest.

I currently use Hyper Cloud 2 Wireless, I do like these headphones but they are getting old.
Unfortunately I really don't like in ear headphones, over ear is what I'm looking for. Wired or Wireless I'm not too fussed it is just for at my desk and office space.
Budget is looking to be a max of $1000 AUD cheaper is great but I'm not in an immediate rush to get them.
Now the current headphones are using USB but i can work with anything.
It does not need a microphone I use a separate one so not important.
