Trying to fit into a group of neurotypicals when there is another neurodivergent
You know when your with a group of people (not usually your friends) and your not clicking and it’s like some of them can sniff out your autism. The social interactions aren’t working, they ignore something you say and they seem annoyed you’re not following all the rules. Well I’ve had this but apperently some of the people in the group are also neurodiverse (maybe even autistic) but why do there friends make me feel awkward and feel like I’m breaking the social rules? How come when the other neurodivergent person does it funny or endearing or just allowed? Has anyone experienced this before?
I find this group awkward to interact with and I’m positive it’s my autism. The other neurodivergent person seems to be quite obsessed with manners (there British and quite posh) and gets annoyed if people seem rude. So maybe it’s the group think I don’t follow the right kind of manners. My close friends are kind but we don’t give gifts when we see each other and bake things or whatever. Sometimes I zone out and don’t want to talk for a bit
