Generative engine optimisation for startups

Hey all, I run a small repair business and have been doing some research into digital marketing to get more leads. I recently came upon this article talking about how generative engine optimisation and answer engine optimisation are the future of digital marketing and way more effective in generating leads than traditional search engine optimisation.

I was wondering if anybody here has any experience in applying generative engine optimisation to their business and how their experience with it has been so far or if I should just stick to normal search engine optimisation?
