Well Battle Tower eat your heart out I guess…
Now that I’m an adult I’ve decided it’s time I finally get a 5 star trainer card. After many MANY hours of training, I finally got my first ever 100-win streak in the battle tower…and it was a little underwhelming.
It was mostly my opponent rolls. After win 74 I noted it was the farthest I’d ever been and I proceeded to breeze the last 26 matches.
No cresselias, Regis, latis, maybe a single focus sash heatran but that was it.
I was running into brelooms, girafirigs, manectrics, lanturns, and just a lot of C-tier mons and I guess I’m just a little bummed the final stretch of the hike was a flat walk and not a steep climb.
Team was
Rufus the garchomp (sweeper)
Jolly w/yache berry
Outrage
Earthquake
Fire Fang
Swords Dance
Athena the Milotic (special support)
Bold w/leftovers
Surf
Ice beam
Hidden power grass
Recover
Iron the Metagross (finisher)
Jolly w/choice scarf
Meteor mash
Earthquake
Ice punch
Thunder punch
I might try a run with Rice guy the special sweeping togekiss and miles the tanking umbreon because I put so much love and effort into them but idk.
Milotic was a pain but oh so worth it. I think I logged a combined 50 hours from catching the dang thing in platinum and breeding so it’d be both viable and have the IV combo for hidden power grass.
Weird side thing but did anyone bug out leftovers cresselia? Because when I pitted Milotic against Palmer his cresselia just…never used moonlight? Which I thought was incredibly bizarre.
Thanks for giving this a read if you did. I certainly dealt with my fair share of RNG garbage but I’m glad I can finally say I’ve done it even if it was unexpectedly easy.
