D5500 Lens Help

Looking for some input into lenses for the Nikon D5500 camera. Currently I use the 18mm - 55mm lens, but I need something with a bit better zoom. Not looking for nothing overbearing as I am a novice photographer and just do street shoots and vacation with the family. I am kind of bummed the camera doesn't have built in zoom function only manual zoom. But it is what it is .

Thanks anyone who responds
