What should I focus on now to get into QD (undergrad in the US)

I'm going to enter my third year in a top 5 CS school in the US majoring in CS. I'm currently interning at a fortune 500 in India as a SWE, and I interned at a startup last summer too. I'm looking to break into quant dev for HFT roles in India so what should I focus on now? I have some time until the end of August to commit along with my internship. After that, I will have to defer any work to the weekends.

I've been getting into HPC/GPU programming lately so I thought of building some CUDA projects (I've read a couple chapters of PMPP already).

I've heard competitive programming is super important too, should I focus on this? My current rating is sub-1000 but that's because I haven't given any time or attention towards it.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.
