Englands Discipline/ Cards Ratio
As a very frustrated England supporter I've been having that classic supporters feeling that we're getting penalised way more than other teams for similar infringements over the last year.
So with that in mind I went to have a look at the statistics and actually, it terms out England are totally middle of the park, averaging 11 penalties per match.
However, when it comes to cards issued, we are an absolute anomaly with an average of 16.4% of penalties resulting in a card which is absolutely insane. For context the next two highest are Wales at 8.8% and South Africa at 6.7%.
I'm not sure what to make of this stat - are we just conceding worse penalties, or being reffed differently, or is this just a bad luck purple patch?
