Lofoten long-crossing in september vs summer

Hi!

I'm debating doing Lofoten long-crossing at the beggining of september (1-11) or next summer (anytime).

I love the idea hiking in september (fewer crowds)

but

I also love the idea hiking when it's 24h sunshine. You have sooo much freedom.

I know the weather is tricky anytime, so I wanna know your experience. When did you hiked it & would you choose the same?
