Inability to communicate with AI chatbots

Social Struggles

ASD <=> ASD communication is supposed to be near as effective as NT <=> NT. (As in: two different communication styles)

And sure, I make this experience at work, where I interact with other autistic seeming geeks, and it's great and no miscommunication. Love them all.

But e.g. here on reddit, I try to talk to other certified autists (TM), and despair as they (just like randos in the flesh world) seem* to respond to stuff in their head, instead of to what i actually said. Have no mental model of why i fail here.

Now there's AI chatbots, and I seem to have the same communication problems. They seem to not get what the actual question is. Or use any of my shorthands as an excuse to derail things. E.g. I say "you have a 1kg rigid ball that wants to roll down a 45° incline" and ChatGPT helpfully spams 2 pages of text about how rigid balls do not really want anything, and if i attribute desires to inanimate objects, i may wish to talk to my mental health professional.

And sure, I'm a computer scientist and have worked with NNs before it was cool, but I still get the feeling they are taking the piss out of me. Working hypothesis: LLMs are trained on stuff written by NTs (as most humans are), and those poor Indians doing RLHF are mostly NT (as most humans are), so NT communication style, which i am not compatible with?

Am I alone in this?

* note the qualifier here: I do NOT claim that is literally the case or that my/"our" communication style (if there is such a thing) is better. Describing subjective feelings here.
